「童画」という言葉を知っていますか？ 童画家・武井武雄によって生み出された「子どものために描かれた絵」を指す言葉です。 武井は子どもの心を揺さぶるような絵の制作を目指し続け、ひとつの芸術として確立させましたが、現代において「童画」という言葉の定義は曖昧です。 本論文では「童画」の定義と芸術的位置付けを、武井の創作活動と先行研究を通して考察します。

 "DOUGA" means a term that refers to "pictures drawn for children" created by the “DOUGA” painter Takeo Takei. Takei continued to work on the production of "pictures that move children's hearts" and established it as a field of art. However, at present, definition of the word "DOUGA" is ambiguous. In this paper, we will clarify the definition and artistic position of "DOUGA" through Takei's creative activities and previous research.
